MBMA Sustainable Green Building Conference: The Metal Building Manufacturers Association held a one-day conference on sustainable building for the metal building industry.

2010 Supplement to the 2006 Metal Building Systems Manual: The Metal Building Manufacturers Association has published the 2010 Supplement to the Metal Building Systems Manual. This 75-page update is available as a free PDF and can be downloaded by clicking here.

MBMA Energy Design Guide for Metal Building Systems: The Metal Building Manufacturers Association has published the Energy Design Guide for Metal Building Systems. IAS Honors MBMA for New Accreditation Program: The International Accreditation Service (IAS), a subsidiary of the International Code Council (ICC), recognized the Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) for the new Inspection Programs for Metal Building Systems (AC472).

MBMA Safety and Health Principles: The Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) recently approved the formation of a new Safety Steering Committee and also adopted a set of Safety and Health Principles. The Safety and Health Principles are available in a booklet issued by the MBMA.

2009 MBMA Safety Award Winners: The Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) announced the winners of its annual safety awards for 2009. The winners were announced at the MBMA Annual Meeting, held in December of 2009.

2010 MBMA Executive Committee: The Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) approved a new Executive Committee at the MBMA Annual Meeting held in December, 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia.

AISC-MB Certification Announcement: The AISC and MBMA announce changes in the Metal Building Certification Program. Click on the headline for more information.

Fire Resistance of Head of Wall (HOW) Joints in Metal Buildings Two UL fire tests were undertaken and successfully completed by MBMA to answer specific questions of regulatory and fire safety officials relative to compliance of certain metal building construction head of wall (HOW) joints with the 2006 International Building Code (IBC) Sections 713.1-713.3, and similar provisions in other codes.

Marketing to Architects and Specifiers is Critical to Success
November 11, 2003 - In our industry’s efforts to boost the sales of metal building systems, we must do our best to win over those most important groups of decision makers: architects and specifiers. If these two groups don’t design with or specify metal building systems, metal buildings don’t get built. If architects don’t understand how to work with metal building systems, they won’t design or specify them.

May 16, 2003- CLEVELAND The Metal Building Manufacturers Association has named Design Components, Inc., of Fayetteville, Ga., a new associate member. For nearly 30 years, Design Components, Inc., has been involved in the design, engineering and distribution of a variety of accessories to the metal building and metal roofing industries.

Birmingham Fastener Named New MBMA Associate Member
March 20, 2003- CLEVELAND The Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) has named Birmingham Fastener, Inc., of Hanceville, Ala., a new associate member. Birmingham Fastener manufactures and distributes a complete range of fasteners used in the construction of metal building systems. "Joining the MBMA is a great opportunity to work toward the shared success of the entire metal building systems industry," said Brad Tinney, vice president of sales at Birmingham Fastener.

March 05, 2003- Roof Curb Systems Named New MBMA Associate Member CLEVELAND, OH -- The Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) has named Roof Curb Systems, LLC, Chattanooga, Tenn., a new associate member. Tremco, Inc., Named New MBMA Associate Member
March 05, 2003- CLEVELAND The Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) has named Tremco, Inc., Beachwood, Ohio, a new associate member. Since 1928, Tremco has offered a complete range of building sealants and services to architects, engineers, contractors and building owners. The company’s products include sealants and weatherproofing, commercial glazing, firestopping, residential windows and products for original equipment manufacturers.
